This section should be completed for students identified as English Learners (EL). The student's current status in listed on the page. The text box is only editable for students who have the EL status on the Student Profile Page in GO-IEP as EL based on what is reported to GaDOE.

Please check with the appropriate system administrator regarding the student's EL status prior to entering text in the box. (See screenshot below for the Student Profile Page)



If the student has the status of EL on the Student Profile Page, the student must also have relevant information in the IEP on the Special Considerations tab for the EL section as related to the student being identified as an EL. This section must also include information about how state testing accommodations, ESOL services for this student will be addressed and the language needs of the student as related to the student's disability. If the student will be precluded from any of the State Testing for the WIDA assessments, this should be included in this box. Users should not enter N/A in GO-IEP in this section.



Entering data in this box for students identified as EL on the Student Profile Page will change the status for the Special Considerations page to show as "Considered" when the IEP is finalized.
