For some students, special considerations may prevent a student from performing certain tasks. This section guides you through these special factors to consider, such as whether a student needs assistive technology or a behavioral intervention plan. Considerations and recommendations in this area should be driven by the student’s needs in the Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP).

Some students with disabilities require special ways of handing educational opportunities. For example, a blind student might need Braille; a deaf student may need an interpreter or communicate via American Sign Language, alternative sign languages, and/or Cued Speech.

This section asks the case manager to consider any special considerations for the student. Before anything is entered into any field on this page, all factors will display as "Not Considered". Use the edit button to add information into all required sections and any others that apply to the student.

Once the required options have been considered, the screen will show the areas considered and the areas not considered. Note: the status column can be sorted. If an area needs to be removed from consideration, select the delete icon. Students who do not qualify as Blind/Visually Impaired, D/HH or EL should have those areas blank and no information should be entered.
