A district may need to inactivate a student case if:

  • a case manager was assigned to the incorrect student
  • an initial evaluation was initiated but the student moved/withdrew before the evaluation could be completed.
  • a student moved/withdrew prior to any meetings being held and no documents have been added that the next distrcit would need to access

To inactivate a student, click on "View Student Timelines Override" on the Timelines page and "ReOpen Timelines Override".  See the HELP section in Override-Timelines and the Specific Scenerio for Inactivate for further guidance.

There are several reasons that students may need to be "Exited" from GO-IEP.  Students that are withdrawn from the school district are not automatically exited from GO-IEP.  System Administrators are the only program users that will see the link to exit students.  The exit section is located at the bottom of the Timelines page. The exit date does not have to match the withdrawal date in the SIS.  It should be the actual day you know the student is not attending.

When exiting a GNETS student,  a warning will appear asking you to change the case manager to a non GNETS case manager, remove all GNETS team members and uncheck GNETS on the profile page prior to allowing you to exit.

Below are the reasons students can be exited from GO-IEP.   Please be careful with making selections using the exit feature.

Students who are exited with the following reasons cannot be put back into GO-IEP:

  • Deceased
  • Graduated with reg ed diploma
  • Reached maximum age

Students exited with the following reasons will be available in search to the district which owns the GTID to be assigned a case manager again, if necessary:

  • Dropped Out
  • Graduated with a SpEd Diploma or Cert of Completion
  • Revocation of Parental Consent
  • Withdrawn to another public school
  • Withdrawn to home or private school

Note: Students that are found ineligible in an Initial Eligibility or Reevaluation Eligibility will be automatically exited from GO-IEP when the eligibility report is finalized.
