Correcting an Eligibility
For 45 days after the date of an eligibility meeting completed within GO-IEP, a SYSTEM ADMIN has the ability to reopen the eligibility to correct typographical errors or correct information that was entered into the eligibility report incorrectly.
THE FUNCTION OF THE ELIGIBILITY CORRECTION IS ONLY TO CORRECT ERRORS MADE IN ENTERING THE DISCUSSION AND DECISIONS MADE IN THE ACTUAL ELIGIBILITY MEETING. DO NOT USE THIS PROCESS TO CHANGE DECISIONS MADE IN THE ACTUAL ELIGIBILITY MEETING.
If a reevaluation data review is completed within that 45 days, the correct eligibility button will no longer show. A ticket would have to be submitted to make changes once the "CORRECT" option is no longer available.
After clicking the CORRECT Eligibility button on the Eligibility tab, a confirmation question will appear.
If you continue, the Eligibility will reopen.
On the Eligibility page, an correction to the Eligibility will be in Development with View/Update ability and a new meeting dated the same as the eligibility will open on the meetings tab. This has now created a new copy of the eligibility. The original eligibility will be maintained as the historical record with an end date. (Note: You cannot change the meeting date with this function. YOU SHOULD NOT USE THIS FUNCTION TO CHANGE ANYTHING NOT DISCUSSED AT THE MEETING. If the results of the meeting need to be reconsidered or new data becomes available that needs to be added to the Eligibility, the team would need to go through the reevaluation process starting with the reevaluation data review meeting, gaining consent for reevaluation, and then completing a new eligibility.)
Eligibility Tab
1. Start with page 1 and make the appropriate changes validating each page all the way through the eligibility.
- You will have to reenter the decision making section, exclusionary factors and the rationale for each category of eligibility as well as any meeting notes entered in the original eligibility.
2. In the printed document, the original date of the eligibility and the correction date will both print (they will be the same date).
3. The original date of the eligibility is the only date reported for Student Record.
4. When finalizing the correction – above the signature line for all participants – there is a statement:
This eligibility report is a correction of an eligibility report dated _______ (this date will auto fill). The correction has been completed in order to correctly document discussion and decisions made in that meeting which were recorded inadequately or incorrectly.
5. The finalized eligibility correction should be printed and given to the parents.
6. The eligibility will be listed twice with the same date on the eligibility tab. The correction will now show as Active with no End Date. The original eligibility with the same date will now show as Archived.
